Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc. was hired to determine the feasibility of a new fire station to replace aging, inadequate facilities and improve response. KBA completed an existing conditions evaluation of the three Goffstown fire stations as well as a space needs study to determine a recommended program to meet the current and future needs of the Goffstown Fire Department. In addition, KBA evaluated and rated five sites provided by the Town of Goffstown as potential locations for a new fire station facility. Mitchell Associates Architects provided the firematic programming which included a recommended 3 apparatus bays with the intent of adding a fourth bay in the future, bunk rooms, day room, administrative offices, fitness area and locker rooms, and a large training room. The final report was presented to the Goffstown Fire Department and included the existing conditions evaluation findings, the recommended space needs program, a site comparison matrix and recommended site selection, conceptual floor plans and elevations, and cost estimates for the proposed facility.
