Avon High School

The first addition and renovation project at Avon High School converted the entire building into a “like new” facility for 800 high school students. Since the completion of the first project in 1999, Avon High School’s population has grown by 50%, and a second addition and renovation project was recently completed. Eleven new classrooms, a computer lab, two science labs, a gymnasium and expanded cafeteria were added while the kitchen and student support spaces were renovated, and code compliance was updated. Both projects successfully passed the Bureau of School Facilities review process. Regular communication between school administration and construction officials as well as phasing plans helped to minimize disruptions to students and staff as the school remained occupied during construction.
